DescriptionEditSaturday 30th November 10.30 - 4.30
Cost €50 includes materials and light lunch
The workshop is designed for those who have a bit of experience
with needlework (basic embroidery or basic hand-sewing is enough).
You will be working on a fine Japanese linen fabric called nani IRO. It is the brand name of the renowned Japanese artist Naomi Ito, who has a background as a watercolour artist. Her designs are of a subtle Japanese aesthetic
We will start with transferring a pattern onto a piece of fabric selected by you, then we will proceed to sewing on a shiny kid leather piece (or a lustrous polyester coated linen for those who prefer to work with a vegan option).
You will then learn and apply a selection of stitches to your project to make it unique: couching, stem, satin, backstitch, chain and French knot. You will have a selection of many colours of cotton threads as well as some metallic (silver and various gold) threads to choose from.
Your finished winter themed piece can be added as an appliqué on a plain cushion, on a bag or can be framed to be a very personal gift for Christmas.
Places are limited, please book in advance to avoid disappointment
Book your place in the shop with a €20 deposit ( non-refundable unless a replacement is found) . Alternatively you can pay the entire fee online
